Gearbox Cover

Hello,

New to the site so spologies if this question has been asked before.

I have a silver 172 and only really have 1 problem with it. The gearbox cover has removed itself from its socket and wont go back in without popping out all the time. Tried to clip it in but just pops out whenever I go to 1st/3rd/5th gear.

Any tips on how to fix this? Was it glued in in the first place?

Advice appreciated.

New cover is only a few quid easy to replace f you fit them right there OK.

Its not worth fxing the old one they are never quite the same afterwards.

Yeah the gear gaitors are £3.80 from reno and are usually in stock

Easy to fit, just cut the cable-tie at the top and refit, the new one.
Tighten the cable-tie on the new gaitor and press firmly into the surround.
