Gearbox Crunch 4th into 5th

Gearbox crunching going from 4th into 5th and drones under acceleration then goes after around 3k, all the other gears are fine. Gearbox got the usual leak around the seals, just bought some elf gearbox oil hoping that'll sort it a bit... is there anything else i can do to take away the crunch? i have brake down cover so i'm just gonna drive it till it goes pop but would like to make it last a bit longer.

Nope, that'll be the syncros and bearings by the sounds of it.

i guess it's a refurb time, it'll be coming your way still in the new year for the cambelts as i have no history of when they were done plus judging by how slow it is i'd say the timing is way out.
