Gearbox - crunching 3rd - where to repair

Hello,

Looking for someone to repair the syncro on my gearbox, 4th was always crunching, now 3rd has started to crunch, so with 3rd and 4th crunching, its time to get repaired.
for my cup box, or is it better for me to look for a replacement.
put new gearbox oil in about 3-4 months ago.

Looking for company down south, else mechs on here, eg fred, eddy, andy,

Also to possibly fix the rocker oil leak

You want to pm MATT BLACK or yozza. They normaly have a few gearboxs on the shelf. Much cheaper to buy a low mile unit than to rebuild your current box.

we charge £350 to rebuild a box, but that doesn't include taking the box out! expensive job

I can vouch for the box rebuilds at Yozza, mine was crunching 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th was funky. Felt like a new box afterwards

There is a few boxes on ebay, but it's always a risk.

But its still gonna cost the same labour to remove the old and fit the new one and you have the uncertanty that goes with em :S
At least with a rebuild you know its gonna be spot on...

Depends how long you can live without a car though while it's being rebuilt. Thats my main problem

well i don't mind how long to repair the car, cos i got motorbike last month. don't want to spend alot on the repair.
So fred, if i took the gearbox out myself and took it to you to repair would i just pay £350.
