Gearbox drive shaft pops out, and gearbox oil question

  Clio 172 ph1
Hi,

I was changing my left ball joint, and the drive shaft decided to pop out, of course a lot of oil leaked and left a big big ffckn mess and me swearing a lot :p.
So since the oil is gone, I decided to take out the gearbox and change the sincros.

But for that, I have to drive the car to a local garage with unknown amount of gearbox oli left inside... My question: should I fill the gearbox with new oil or just drive a few miles to my mechanic like that, so he puts fresh oil when the repaired gearbox is back on ?

Thanks !
