Gearbox / Driveshaft - weak?

Hi Guys, I'm looking into building a new road rally car and thought a clio sport would be a good choice to start with.

I've heard a few things about how weak the gearbox / Driveshaft are when giving it some stick. Appreciate a lot of this is how you drive the car as well though.

Have many of you guys experienced weakness in these areas or is it just a myth! If so, is there anything which can be done to help this issue without spending big bucks on a proper box.

I'm sure scoff is using Clio 1*2 driveshafts on his 800+hp R5.

The gearboxs arnt the best but they ain't the worst, it depends what power you are aiming for really.

Thanks for that! I would be looking at standard power to start with and get the car setup and reliable before looking at any power increases.
(I'm looking at Ph2 2001 - 2005 models by the way!)
