Gearbox fail

Has anyone on cs experienced their gearbox needing to be replaced on a 172/182. If so, what were the symptoms before replacing, how much did it set you back.

My old car had 3 lol
first syncro went in 3rd
2nd it was broke from new (Renault supplied)
