Hi all over the last 3-4 months i had a project in my spare time.
had a ph1 donnor car picked up for £600 with dephaser problem and the owner didn't have the funds to fix.
Had a ph2 Non sport sitting around for 2-3 years rotting away.
Anyway decided to go ahead and make tack car results follow.

Right had a track event at Rockingham on the 23rd of January and car performed very well In dry condition with out an issue.
now the car started to wind in 5th gear after the event when letting of the throttle .
Had an event on 8th feb and was getting car ready for this then completely lost 5th gear
then whilst trying to resolve this problem in all gears was hearing something scraping along the floor looked and Nothing (Was the Gearbox)
decided to try draining gearbox oil and refilling with new oil just out of interest then whilst on axle stands to diagnose the situation had it turning over in the air with me under the car.

MY Questions (My the engine Is from A ph1 sport 172 X reg F4R
1. What is my gearbox code as gearbox is filthy and carnt locate it.
2. What gearbox options do i have? anything think a little more low ratio?
3. I would prefer warranty on the box so i know its in fully working order - OR Would it be best just to get refurbed?
