Put some more gear oil in my 182 on friday and when I took the butterfly type plug out to put the gear oil in it looked to have a washer sticking to the gear box around the filler hole. By the time I got the gear oil ready to put in and a bit of hose to feed it in with, the washer looked to have gone (at least I think there was one there) and try as I did I couldn't find it and now it looked as if the was a countersunk type hole for the washer, which the butterfly plug doesn't quite fill.
So all I want to know before I phone the dealer up asking for one of these washers (or a part that doesn't exist), is does this sound right and should there be a washer there?
