Gearbox issue (refurb needed?)

Right just wondered if anyone can help. We had a 'spirited' lakes meet/drive @ the weekend and while driving I missed a gear doh! Cue horrible noise but nothing more everything seemed ok. I have driven the car since and I've had no issues at all so today I jump in the car to drop my daughter at the monster in law's a15 mile trip no trouble at all, set off back home 40 minutes later and I can't engage 2nd gear all the other gears are fine but there's no noise when I try to put it in 2nd. Just nipped out again still no 2nd all the other gears are fine just 1st seemed a little tight. Is it looking like a refurb or could it be anything else? Any help would be great.

Cheers folks hoping tunst off here gets a chance to look at it this wk end. Where would the best place for a refurb? Would need to be up north.
