Gearbox Oil Leak

Hi all,

A friend and me have gone halts on a phase 2 172 track car, the car is in good condition however there is a crunch between 2nd and 3rd when driving spiritly.

As the car is stored at a friends unit he has found a gearbox oil on the floor.

Wheres the main place to check on the gearbox for leaks?
And would low oil levels cause the crunch?

Yes low oil levels would cause the changes to get worse,
and it'll be the seals that are leaking they're known for it,
you can buy a kit to replace them, I currently have a puddle of oil under my gearbox too.
