Gearbox Oil, where to check the limit?

Hi there guys changed the gearbox oil the other day, I put 3 and a bit litres in as per the threads say on here. Am I right in saying that if the oil comes out of the wingnut where you fill the gearbox up it has to much in it? Just opened mine up and a good 1/4 of a litre came out of the box and more was trickling out.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers

from what i have read on here you should fill i up till it starts trickling out of the hole on the side of gearbox and that means its filled up enough.!!!

was it an easy enough job to do as im going to try mine in next weeks or so
