Gearbox removal

I'm gonna be removing my gearbox in the next week or so , I thought I'd have a browse in the guide section to see what was what , in the guide it advises the removal of the inlet mani and exhaust mani ? Is that necessary ? If so can you explain ? I've changed a few gearboxes before and not had too .

I've not read the guide, but if thats true it needs deleting. Complete nonsense, manifolds don't need touching

Manifold off in one of the guides is becuase he removed the engine.
