Gearbox & Uprated Clutch - £

My valver has done 130k now and before i do anything else to it i want a new box and clutch in it.

Whats the best options overall to go for and how much is it gonna cost?

Itll need to be able to handle about 250bhp max....

Wanting to go for a turbo conversion but giving the cost involved and where i live (Aberdeen) i think itll end up being throttle bodies. Looking at Primas kit which i can get a garage up here to fit without monkeying the whole car up! It wont be 250bhp but getting a gearbox/clutch that could take it would give a bit more durability/reliability....

A williams gearbox would be able to take 250BHP with out any major issues. BBPTs clio 16v turbo demo car runs a std williams box. Any more and you may have to concider maybe custom quaife one?! But then your talking big £££. BBPT turbo 16v is limited due to the gearbox, tho some say the chassis cant really deal with any more power what with it being FWD and all. If it wasnt for this, itd be running something in the range of 300 - 350 BHP.

As for the clutch, speak to BBPT - there are many to choose from.

Clutch - Dont bother with BB or K-tec.

5 GT turbo clucth from Andyspares for £56 will easily handle what you need it to.
