ive had my car from new, and from the start, if im idling the gear stick vibrates quite bit, and then when in first gear, and i put and take my foot off the accelerator the gearstick moves about 1-2cm?!what (if any) could be the problem, its mk2 ph2, 05 reg, 1 year old now?surely couldnt be a weak mount if its been like that from new?

Dog bone mount, check that first, sounds like to me...

yeah its bloody annoying!!and doesnt look right either!lol they shouldnt wobble that much!!

Buy a 172 dog bone mount they are £30 they will stop the movement and fit ok, ive fitted one on my birds 1.2

yeah 2 bolts 16mm and an 18mm, the old one is a steel mount with rubber only bushes , you want to order the 172part with the twist in it
