what kind of power can a willy gearbox take? i went through 3 16valve boxes and a willy box in my 160bhp valver, i intend to get a throttled boddied hybrid next,but i would imagine the gearboxes to last no time, so what have you got in your bigger powered valver/hybrids and williams?

and what boxes do the throttle boddied williams have in them?

i had teh original one in mine for 2 years, and have had 1 recon and 3 s/h ones in over the last 2 years.....

u can go sadev, but they cost big bucks, quaiffe do an lsd now too as well as gripper, both around the grand + fittin mark.


willy box should be able to cope with the 160 easy in the valver, the s/h one im runnin now has had 12 months of serious abuse from my cammed willy, approx 185 bhp on several strip days and trackdays, loadsa enthusiastic road driving......its still holdin up nicely. not bad for a £100 box lol


other than a custom built one id say stick with the willy box, but get a recon one from reno circa £600, nearer 500 if u know the right ppl. and with 12 month warranty

The throttle bodies Williams that Angelworks built has a new Williams gearbox I believe.

sadev boxes are not that strong. bb are running 378 bhp and 350 ft lbs through a williams box at the moment. sadev do not warrenty their boxes at that level

I have a 172 gearbox with a 4.8 final drive and avanti diff if you want to sort your tracktion and gearing out
