Yeah once i baked the top coat ( well left it in my snakes vivarium @ 100 degrees lol ) i added the decal and then applied a heap of lacquer in light coats then baked again in " Syd's " viv ... hopefully it doesnt wear down too soon ...may even polish the nuts off it in a couple of days before i chuck it on the car..

Dash trim is my next project .. i got the bubbly sort of kack in at the mo that i've carbon fibre'd with a sheet but will take it off and sand them and do them same as the gearknob..

You'd better painted the gear selection instead of a decal.

As to masking off the white base before spraying that Mica blue.

When I did mine I put a few layers of laquer on it over a few days and let it dry properly. has been fine now for a good few months - not wearing at all

May sound silly but how do you remove this plastic insert from the gearknob?

I used a lil flat blade screwdriver buddy on the corner of the flat bit of the insert(bottom)..take your time not to damage the gearknob itself ,pops out pretty easy..

Thanx owain182 i'll chuck some more lacquer on mine over next few days, make sure it bullet proof :)
