Get home safe mode.........

  Shed.
Came on today lol. whats it mean anyways, should there be any problem, started it up after id been to the dentist, so was still rarther warm, and it came on as i pulled out of the parking space and i was doing like 10 mph down the road lol. car wouldnt go above 2000 revs.

Parked up and it was ticking over like it was cold, and then turned off, started up again and it was fine. First time its ever done it.

Car missfired twice last week too. Anything to do with it ?

limp home mode its called. Could be a variety of things on the 1.2 16v but i'd check to see if the ECU cover is cutting through the loom first.

Not 100% tbh but the ECU is mounted on the back of the engine at the top you should be able to see a lot of wires running to it. Theres a cover on it which cuts into the loom.

Someone should be able to give a definitive answer.

would anyone be able top point out where everything is ? should i get a photo of my engine so you can draw in it or you wanna use someone elses piccy.

Its been missfiring all the time recently. getting worse. seems to happen when im booting it and it tends to missfire at around 4-5k.

BEHIND THE ENGINE NEAR WHERE THE WINDSCREEN END IS THERE IS A METAL BOX, PRIZE THAT OFF ( VERY HARD ) AND PUT ELECTRICAL TAPE AROND THE WIRES AND EDE OF THE METAL,

THAT SHOULD DO IT.

Will come on if the car has been having its arse kicked to ensure the occpant(s) of the vehicle get home safe as the car thinks the driver is beginning to run out of 'tallent'.

Came off easily, and the lower half moves about very easily too. it came off agers ago, didnt know what it was but it somehow managed to become wedged down the back of my engine and was causing problems.

come on. have i got the right thing or what ?

e/ k i will do. but am i still going to have to put up with missfiring ? anyone know how much a new loom is guunna cos tthen ?

Don't you why specifically but i've got £700 in my head. Thats causing the limp home mode, missfire could be that or otherwise probably coil pack.

The thing that makes the spark. Follow the HT leads there connected to it. Common failure across the range.

just wrap some electrical tape round it... im guessing the metal box was shorting it... then leave to box off or make some padding for that area... i doubt the problem will occur again....
