Gettin A New Key Fob

I went to the Crawley Downs Renault garage thing to get a new key cause the remote on both my old ones doesnt work... I dunno wat the F*ck they make the keys out of but they must be gold plated or summin... They tried sellin me one for £109 and the £40 for programming it. I have never heard anything so ridiculous in my life..

Well n e way i've seen jus the keys on ebay for liek £12 then u can get them programmed at the shop for £40 so at least thats cheaper.. Or ther is sum program on eBay some guy si sellin for £2 that apparently shows u how to code the key... Dunno if i can trust it tho..

N e 1 used it before??

Well thats my rant over jus couldnt believe the would try sell me a key for £150:S I expected liek £50 max coz my mate paid £30 fo his saxo 1...

be wary of buying them off eBay unless they are still sealed in the wrapper as people often sell on their 'old' keys which are programmed to their old cars. People buy them not knowing that they cannot be re-programmed. I bought a new key from dealers a couple of months back, £60 it cost and £30 for programming. 99% off eBay will be a waste of cash mate

Exactly what Daz has just mentioned there. Most offers like the £12.99 ebay specials are a waste.

As said they are locked to the previous vehicle and cannot be programmed for yours.

I managed to get a spare key from a Specialist centre in Nottingham.
Brand new and i drove up for him to program it all.

Cost me £28.50

Ill try and find his details. Unsure if it was a key fob he had left or can regularly supply them.

dont get one of e-bay . seen lts where people have even promised they are ok and they just dont work.
at least get assurances with a money back assurance if poss.
anyway , what year is your car as some early ones you can buy just the coded key (not remote ) for £15+vat and comes coded , just start the car.

Its 2001.. on Y reg... and yeh i went to garage today and talked to the technichian and he said that the other ones will be locked to other cars so wont be programable for the immobiliser..

The details of teh place in Nottingham would be kool tho..
Just dont really wanan be spending £150 for a central locking remote could get separate central lockin fitted for that much n e way:S
