Im really confused by what to go for on these components. It been a while since i upgraded PC so im a bit rusty on bits.
Basically i have two specs:
Asus P5N-E SLI NF650i SLi, S 775, DDR2 533/667/800
Intel Core 2 Duo E4300, Socket 775, 1.80 GHz, 800MHz FSB,
2Gb (2X1Gb) Corsair TwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC5400 (667), CAS 4-4-4-12
320MB EVGA 8800GTS Superclocked, Mem 1700MHz, GPU 576MHz
That is the essential core, im getting confused with the CPU and Memory,
i have read things about the E4300 being better at overclocking that the e6300 because of the unlocked multiplier. The E4300 apparently works well with any of the memory above however the E6300 is more picky and requires DDR2 800 or 1000 (cant remember).
Either way i think im gonna be getting the E4300 CPU but am i going to benefit from having the DDR2-800 memory at a higher latency or DDR2-667 at a lower latency.
The aim of the system is to work well now and be upgradeable later so changing processor at a later date would i be better having the quicker memory?
Sorry random question
