Make sure your speakers are plugged in fully into your computer. If it's half in and half out it will make a noise like you suggest.

I love the on the fly, I work in fireworks all day long so its the mutts. Got butts on the side for zoom in zoom out (way better than CTRL + +). Must save me 20 minutes a day at least.
Mute your speckers with-in windows, and if it still does it it will be the specker jack-plug connection.
