must have a bunch of monkeys working for them!!

so i insured thr 182 last week so i could hopefully take it on monday as i had to wait 3 to 5 days for them to send me the policy thru, ok it does not come monday it comes today (6days!!!) i goto the dealers so irt can be taxed this afternoon and i take finaly take it home at 5pm tonight great eh, BUT NO!!!! i get to the renault dealers and as soon as he looks at the policy he says *i think thats the wrong reg* OMG it is they have written it down wrong they put a 2 instead of a Z ffs!!!!!

I MEAN HOW THICK CAN U GET!!!!

so i ring them back up they correct it and tell me that i have to wait another 3 to 5 working days for it to come thru

aarrggh!!!!!!

Wait?

When I got insurance for Williams, he said "Ok, youll be insured from 11:25am" which was like, in 5 mins.. they then sent me a temporary cover note through.. and then the proper one like 3 weeks later.

yep wait, im wth AXA now and they dont do cover notes as i have been told 3 times by the person on the other end of the phone.

renault will not let me take the car with out them getting it taxed for me etc and i cannot get it taxed with out the insurance policy or cover note (as u know) so i cannot have the car, to say i was slightly annoyed driving back to work this morning from the renault dealers is a understatment

also, if it comes next wednesday (day 5) i cannot have the car as the saleman who sold me the car has to be there and wednesday is his day off so im lucking at next tuesday if im lucky or next thrusday.

You can still drive without a cover note coz even if you got a producer you have 7 days to produce your documents by which time your policy would have arrived. The tax thing takes the piss and as for renault making errors its just typical of them!

Well, yea.. but if they dont have a cover note in the post.. then you could be in trouble.

I know I could drive as soon as I paid for the insurance.. even tho the docs came 2 days later.. but thats Elephant.. the bloke told me I could.. and on the cover note I did get, did say the time and date it started from.

nonono its not renault thats got the reg wrong AXA took the reg off of me then told me what car it was exactly then sometime between me putting the phone down and them doing the actual policy they changed the letter Z to the number 2

correct reg is F*04ZHH

AXA put F*042HH

i cannot believe they did not spot the error when doing the policy, on new number plates the only numbers are the year (04) anyway iv calmed down now from this morning and im hoping they can get it right this time, but im not holding my breath ;)

hey you dont have to have insurance cover not or any paper work for the tax to be sorted out. i asked them that @ the renault dealer i got mine from and they said no mate we dont need it as the car is insured by use until it leaves this forcourt. i was like ok then. rang the insurance and 5 mins later i was coverd. how simple was that.

I got my insurance sorted out by quoting the chassis number which you can obviously obtain way before the reg number is issued at the dealer. Therefore the insurance is all sorted before the pick up date.

Privilege dont do cover notes either, it has to be a proper certificate in the post.
