Going to view a car... insurance?!

Right,

Im hopefully selling my 1.2 saturday... then on Sunday going to buy a Clio 197... ive just phoned Adrian Flux (my current insurance company)... and because they are closed on a Sunday if I decide to buy the car there and then im not insured.

They said only way I could do it was to go up with someone whose covered third party and they could drive it back.

So basically me and my old man were going to go up then I drive the 197 back... thing is hes just got a new BMW and hes not going to let me drive that back, PLUS his insurance company said I have to be over 25 to go on his insurance in anycase.

Anyone had this problem before???

why not go to said place on the train (for example) and let your old man drive the 197 home? or am i missing something?

When i went to view my current car, i changed the policy on that day.
You would have to change it on the saturday, it didnt cost me anything at the time (adrian flux as well) and i drove the car back no probs.
I did it for the for the test drive anyways and just happened to bring the car back with me.

mmmmm, but surely they wouldnt give me tempcover if its insured under another persons name under a company.?

Dillema is... its a 3 hour drive away from my house... so if we went Monday night, would be pitch black by the time we got there... and im not going to view and buy a car in the dark.

Dont think my old man would fancy getting on a train, plus then we got to get to the persons house!

Just ring your insurance tomorrow and tell them the sutuation. So you will be insured for sunday.
Or go see it next week :S

Arranging insurance prior is fine unless the car turns out to be a shitter then you've wasted money, i'd just spent a tenner on a dayinsure policy to insure it for the day if you buy it then ring flux on the monday morning. You're covered for a test drive then too obviously.

Ok , they wouldnt insure me because it was already insured, (well I thought) but just spoke to the guy and its not insured at the moment, therefore I can just ring up tmrw and get covered from sunday Wahoooo.... hopefully this guy buys my car saturday .... hes paid me depsoit already, then its 197 time

Aesthetics are fine mate, but can't insure anything thats been modified for performance I'm afraid!

O.P, it's fine to get temporary cover for a vehicle thats already insured, lots of people take it out to borrow friends cars etc:approve:

if the 197 is not insured at the moment you might aswell get temp cover so you can at least test drive the thing! whilst being insured.

Luke your company just quoted me £60.77 for 2 days, thats brill.... what time are you open till saturday? Because the guy is coming to view my car saturday... so if he buys it ill need cover, if he doesnt then I wont be going to see the other car.

Our main office is only open Mon - Fri but we have a 24hr call centre open all weekend so you can ring up and get cover anytime instantly.
