Google maps causing Safari to crash?

I can't seem to get on google maps on my macbook without it crashing Safari…really annoying.
Anyone had anything similar and any ideas?

I have the same. Mavericks on late 13 13" MBP. I've given up and started using my phone instead

i've been using it on my late 2011, what are you doing to cause it to crash?

On mine it happens if i search anything in google maps. usually trying to find out how far away a place is from mine. I just get a page of code which keeps reloading every time i turn it off. Safari and other tabs are not effected though once i shut the maps tab.
