i'm garmin all the way, got a nuivi 610 and my bro hase anothe rone the same cant remember the model but its got the same feturs but a smaller screen, they are great, and my nuivi actually gets a signal through the windscreen unlike the i3 i had, my dad has a TT that i got him but idont like it.

a tip though garmins have a quirk where they don't discriminate very well between farm roads and b roads, so they can send you down a ranther bumpy route, set the vehicle to bus or lorry and it stops all that.

and which one do people recommend?

I got one of these for Christmas. Just wondering how other 182 owners have fitted them in their cars? Want to avoid the sticky on the window method for security reasons, anyone know of any gadgets that work with the clio for fitting it into the drinks holder/onto the air vents etc?

check ebay the americans have every kind of adapter under the sun. i'm thinking of getting a vent adapter, to you could use the dash disk which came with the unit, but be warned to take it off oyu need a heat gun to melt the glue and possibly the dash,

if your unit is small enough what i used to do with mine was i'd stick it inbetween the rev counter and speedo, which worked pretty well. but cant to that with en new one as its too wide.

on the first not you need to use the world wide search to get the diferent holders as no one in the uke does them the last time i looked.,

Ive got a garmin 300, does the job fine, you dont have to wet the sucker anyway so i wouldnt worry about leaviung marks on the windscreen ive never had a prob...

I do know 2 people who have clipped an ipod and a sat nav to their vents and broken the fins
