hey,

i got flashed at those stupid cameras on the traffic lights today.

am i right in thinking its 3 points and £60 fine?

Im guessing that ill have to tell my insurance company. how much is my insurance likely to go up?

Insurance goes up by a little bit more than would happen if you have an SP30 or SP50 endorsement.

that's what i thought, but gf's mum is a road safety officer and apparently only the newer ones are digital so there's always that small bit of hope!

There is a chance you will be okay, a few people i know have been flashed (i was in there car for 1 and it def went off) but none have got tickets. I spoke to an ex-officer and he said only something like 20% of the people that get caught on film get a ticket. Plus not all have film in. Hopefully you will be lucky.

This was awhile ago tho so it may not be like that anymore.

You have to inform your insurance if you get points but I'm pretty sure it won't effect the premium until the renewal date.

the lights camaras do flash, where i live we have one on the crossroads and that this is always going off, its quite funny watching some of the peoples reactions when they know they have been flashed its like instant rage with some of them...
unlucky dude they shouldn't put it up to much, it will still be cheaper than wat your already paying even with the ts10 just cos you have another years no claims

IF he was speeding the rlc's class it as 2 seperate offenses, 3 points for going through a red, and 3 points for speeding in most cases anyway.

My mate got flashed for the same thing a few months back, the light was red for a good 6 seconds but he wasnt paying attention.

Nothing ever came of it though, so theres hope for you yet.

I was convinced I got flashed by one of these in London, fortunately I never heard anything from it.

I think theyre a pile of shite tbh. People trying to avoid being caught by them can cause driving just as dangerous as booting it through the lights imo.
