Means he's restricted to 45MPH until a year after he past his test.
It's an Irish thing.
same here
i lost 3 pen points about 3 months after passing my test
was doing 77 on a 60mph road, but was on my 'R' plates so it was automatically 3 points
tbh... that 45 mph thing sounds like a good idea...prob save a lot of accidents, and give new drivers longer to get accustomed to driving!

totally agree, but wouldnt really like it if the rule came over here, acutally i wouldnt mind i passed my test years ago :rasp:

Not so hot when your travelling in NSL 60 roads and your pissing everyone off behind you who'll try to overtake at any (possibly dangerous) oppertunity. Nothing winds me up more than idiots that are incapable of driving doing 35/40 in a 60, although 99% of the time they're old gits. Also takes motorways off the agenda so what if you wanted to travel anywhere a good distance?
all soundsangerous to me.....especially if the people over there do an average of 80mph on the motorwaysyou can do 45 on a motorwayNot so hot when your travelling in NSL 60 roads and your pissing everyone off behind you who'll try to overtake at any (possibly dangerous) oppertunity.
