Got rear ended today

was sitting at traffic lights today and was 5 or 6 cars back from the lights, I had about a 1/2 a cars length of space in front of me and i looked in my mirror to see a fooking taxi getting closer and closer so i took my foot of the brake when he was about a metre from hiting my car to absorb some of the impact and to try and stop more damage to the cup, BANG! smack clean into the back of me, i stormed out of the car ready to give him the beating of his life when i noticed there was hardly any damage, so that kinda calmed me down, anyways i got his details and he took mine.


Then he had the cheek to say its alright insurance will sort it, I said to him its not the point you should have been looking where you were going:evil: then he said there no damage and it will T-cut out, so he's saying 2 or 3 chunks out the bumper, broken inner splash gaurd, plus scratches will polish out

I think not:rasp: new bumper etc for me on his insurance and compensation for whiplash and a day off work is in order

Same for me mate, boot floor needed to be cut out and welded in mine after a 10 pmh impact, looked as if i hadnt been hit from the outside. Get it up in a ramp and have a look underneath mate.

i work in a bodyshop and clios are classic for boot floor crumpling its for safety so even low speed bumps do crazy damage.

i turned my insurance companies offer down..(they seemed quite pushy for me to make one aswell)...as i wasnt injured, and couldnt be arsed with the hassel

its the country we live in im afraid...people wouldnt think twice of doing it back to him....too many people out there wanting money for nothing...

it will go up fella... as you have to declare whether you've been involved in an accident... irrespective of whether it was a fault or none fault.

she's not being a tosser about it as you so sweetly put it... merely pointing out that if you're hurt from the accident you would have seen a doctor by now. nothing wrong with claiming for a legitimate injury

oh and btw to add, i've been in your shoes, difference being the other car didnt stop and i had a fence post come through the windscreen of my car narrowly missing my neck as it passed through

This has just opened a can of worms, do claim dont claim, who gives a toss!

The insurance is only going up anyway itll not make a toss of a diffrence who is and whose not!

I pay my insurance year in, year out. It costs me a f**king fortune and it only goes up regardless of driving like an old biddy or taking bends like alonso.

If some taxi driving hill billy hits me from behind and im not injured then im going to grab an oppertunity with both hands!

How it will be in your policy? When I had a bump (non fault) I paid £500, then got a cheque back 3 weeks later. No great hassle, thats what credit cards are for. My insurance barely went up.

Ha ha, good reply. I don't like to hear when people get involved in accidents but when they think sorting it out means getting out the car ready to threaten the person, I have no sympathy. Taxi drivers are no better drivers than any other Joe Public.
