Graphics card upgrade question.

I'm looking at getting a Sapphire X1950Pro 512MB AGP from ebuyer.

My Dell PC is about 4 years old now (P4 3.0Ghz) and I don't think my 340W PSU will cope.

Will any PSU over 450W cope with this card?

Can someone recomend me a new PSU? I'm bloody lost!

why not go for a 600W

Not much price different and 450W is mid range - not sure on how demanding APG cards can be. it is 512MB though so could be juicy!

How much have you got to spend? Antec make great PSUs....have a gander at www.overclockers.co.uk
Never spend less than £25 on a power supply imo, they are one of the most important components

works well n fairly quiet, cables connection seem tidyer than normal.

Thers no point getting a x1950pro on a 3ghz cpu you wont get full use out of the card.

I've got the 1950XTX and had to upgrade my power supply big time - you get what you pay for with PSU's.

Yeh you def dont want to get one of those 10quid pieces of crap you want a decent psu, most important part of the pc imo.

Dunno if its worth just buying a new Motherboard and PCi-e graphics card.......

I have 2 GB of ram that I can use plus the fact that most intel M/b's will allow me to use my P4 (Yeah, i know its old!) but I can upgrade at a later date.

You will have to do it some time :rasp: then youl have much better options and pci-e cards will cost much less.
