Got up at 8:dead: to drive to grays in derby for a nice early start.
Products used:
And here are pictures of the damage - Baked on break dust from some stupidly harsh pads and lots of other nasties.
Here is a pic of some swirling in the bonnet
Floating clio :rasp:
So anyway - We whipped off the wheels and then cleaned all the arches and coilovers.
Here are some before and afters!
Squirted with megs APC and agitated with a brush and left to dwell:
And the results of our efforts left this:
Now we moved onto the wheels with the arches cleaned and dressed. For the wheels we used this wheelcleaner that grays dad got from the back of a van. Its seriously strong s**t. To the extent it burns your legs and leaves you with a rash :dead:
Wheels before:
During:
Waxed/sealed and finished :rasp:
we also covered them in megs endurance TYRE gel (shown in later pictures!)
So with the arches and wheels out of the way we moved on to the preperation of the paintwork. It needed to be 100% clean so the machine would be the most effective it could be so this stage took us a good 4 hours!
Snow foamed up:
We then left it to dwell and rinsed off with the pressure washer:
We then gave it a good wash:
And took off all the side repeaters/number plates/ badges/ rear headlights so nothing got in our way. also notice the defects in this image:
The plastic crap on the back of the car was agitated with that harsh s**t grays dad got hold of and jet washed off:
Then we moved on to the door shuts and rubber ( all the door rubber/seals were removed and cleaned).

Now onto the next effort. Claying :dead: This really helped lift off the break dust with the help of that harsh s**t/APC/elbow grease & effort. The car went from blue to a golden brown colour there was that many defects. By FAR the worst car i have ever done. Here is that the clay looked like after HALF the bonnet pmsl:
The break dust :dead: (will show afters lateer. i think you will be shocked)
during:
the harsh s**t doing its thing:
RE snowfoamed and washed to get the crud off:
AFTERS of the doors (both were as bad as each other) - Also again - notice the defects!!!
Notice the bad spray job on the door above also. Here you can see where the paint has reacted to some masking tape that was used when the inside of the car was sprayed. It has only reacted with this door though :S i was told the door had been badly resprayed ant it showed:
Soo wheels back on and it dropped back to the ground:
Already looking a million times better!!!
Here is some images of the interior as i know some of you track boys will like it
Right. Now the car was washed and dried it was time to start the machining. PROPER effort ...
bonnet before ( i couldn't catch the swirls but i can assure you it was REALLY bad )
And here is an after shot. The bonnet was worse than the side wing which hasn't yet been touched:
Bonnet like glass.. Wing is s**t atm :rasp: starting to take shape now!
I then moved on to the wing and got it looking like this:
Before
during:
Finished:
Al la perfect!
I then made gray start applying the sealent to the car while i cracked on. This polish and pad combo didnt really give out that much dust so it wasn't necesary for us to wash the car again. Time was also against us so we had to drop it down a gear.
(excuse me looking like a chav. Detailing clothes )
front of the car DONE:
Can you remember that s**tty break dusted up side of the car with the dodgy paint job?
BEFORE:
AFTER
Woop looking a lot better now. we are about 7 hours in atm.
Then the mong from uttoxeter showed up to "supervise" (n00b!)
The car had a lot of scratches underneith the door handles so i took the time to remove these too.
Before:
After:
The roof and other random images of the detail:
Look at the depth of the bootlid now
After sealing everthing with EGP norm and gray applied the collonite while i chilled
ALL done!
Some finished images:
and a pic of the RB that i liked
AWESOME!
Summary
Total time: just over 12 hours
Approx % correction: 70%
Effort: 10/10 :dead:
I love the colour of the car and the pictures do not do what was achieved justice. I do however wish i had the car at my house so i could spend longer on it. It could have really done with a cutting pad with some powegloss polish to cut the paint RIGHT back - but we knew from the start this wuold take days due to having to refine it all with final finish and get it perfect.
Although its not 100% perfect I and gray are happy with the finish and i got paid.
Gray will be along shortly with some better images but we ran out of time.
I will be doing this over the summer holidays so if anyone would like a quote get in touch
Thanks for reading :star:
