Grinding noise when clutch pedal is pushed in

  BG 182
Just recently on my 172 when you push the clutch pedal all the way in it makes a crunching/sliding sound. After searching the web I've put it down to the release bearing, would I be right in thinking this? If so how much would it be to replace it? It only makes this sound occasionally

cheers!

Yeah I would say release bearing from what you described.

Not sure how much garages charge but you may aswel put a new clutch in while the box is off. OEM valeo clutch kit is about 100 quid and comes with a new release bearing.

Its about a days work so not a cheap job if your paying a a garage to do it
