Group buy RS Clio 3 - discussion

I havent seen anyone else bring this up so thought id bring up the subject. I know none of us have even driven the new Renault Sport Clio but it is likely a few of us will buy one in the next year.

Im not in the car trade or anything but what sort of savings do you think could be had on group buying our cars. If say ten people wanted a Clio RS 3 would the price be significantly cheaper. Also would one order direct from Renault or from a UK garage or maybe even start our own company for this purpose.

Whats your views.

I work for a large company, and all employees can get a car through some company called Alphabet. You tell Alphabet what car you want, with what spec and extras etc, and they then order it and you pick it up from your choice of your local dealers. Then, you can either buy the car outright at the start, or finance over 2, 3 or 4 years similar to the Reanult Options scheme, having the option to buy outright or hand the car back at the end of the term. Renault is one of the preferred suppliers and even when financed, including ALL maintenance costs (which includes serviving, tyres etc and road tax), a Megane 225 works out cheaper than buying new from Renault!!
Might be worth contacting a company like them to see if they would do anything

You mean if your lucky to get one then?... stopped making them and by all accounts, the stock they have left is nearly empty.. The 182's are becoming collectables :D

Im just thinking we live in rip off britain, there has got to be a 25% + saving involved with buying multiple cars.

Does anyone know what the cost breakdown for a car bought from a Renault Dealer.
ie Clio 182:
RRP - £15k
cost to dealer - £9k
Costs renault 6k to build.

more like the 172 cup is getting more collectable, 182s are to common now

It is possible but to get huge discounts you need to be buying a laod of cars.
10 cars isn't a huge deal when you put into prespective that Renault sell something like 60,000 Clios a month.
You may find a dealer is willing to get together with 10 other people to sell them there cars at close to dealership price so that get there cars cheaper as they're normal say 50 RS a year sales go to 60 or they least don't have to try sell there first 10 cars but I don't see them being hugly bothered.
Best best is to go to all the car supermarket and trade places and see what they would offer I'm guessing you'd be looking at about a few hundred less than they will sell the cars at anyway and they'd want some deposites as group buys have a tendancy to go wrong.
You can usualy find large companies ie BP etc have deals going with arval etc to buy cars cheap for there employees so that one option. However you'd probably only get discounts upto the price that people in the companies get anyway which isn't far off a well driven deal with a showroom that isn't doing well.
Best option is to work for Renault then you'll get a decent discount although the new RS won't be on as big as discount for a while as the RS is on now.

theres loads for sale though, and there not shifting (cups that is), as for a group buy you would be better using a broker who will probably get 100's of orders and can command a better discount, hence you will save more , and there fees arent that big
