Group n ecu - wot’s group n then

I mean, I know what Group N is in rallying terms, but I just wondered what the Renaultsport Group N ECU was actually created for? For the Cup racers perhaps, or is that a different one again? Btw I have one of these on my mk2 172...

Group N is basically the production car class where they take a showroom spec car and do basic mods to it in order for it to be able to compete, but not much is altered...

Its other classes like Group A, Group B and WRC that are "full blown" cars!

So the ECU is for rallying use? Not seen too many Clio rally cars besides the Super 1600 or whatever its called...

No, its just to give you an idea on its effects.

GrpN regs limit the modifications on the engine quite drastically, so its nothing special. If anybody sayss they have GrpN such and such a part...its nothing to write home about.
