  172 Cup

Hi there, as a lot of you know I have a "striped out" cup, but the bonet could do with a respray.
So I am looking to do one of 3 things
1) Respray the bonnet as it is
2) Get a vent fitted in to the original bonnet and then respray
3) Get a S1600 / Group N bonnet with the vent allready in it.
Any help on where to get a new s1600 bonnet from would be nice
Thanks Hugh (McShug)

wasnt there a discussion about the shape/position of the vent being unsuitable for the 172 engine from what BenR said ? i may be wrong, personally i would go carbon or std resprayed.

Thanks Loony, know that i will get flamed to hell and back but I dont like the carbon look, I think that this is due to to many "imatations". The other thing is I think that my front end is too light at the mo as it is - getting a bit skitty on corners and this would not help the situation.

But ta all the same

Cant imagine skittishness at the front is down to weight as you have the engine over the font axle and the driver not far behind it, if you have stripped the rear the balance even more to the front. i would have thought it would be a suspension/tyre issue not weight.

Battery in the boot?

I wouldnt go for a vent of any sort for the bonnet. I would leave it as it is or go for a carbon, but youre not keen on that so - LEAVE IT AS IT IS!

As above! Would either get it re=sprayed or go for a carbon jobbie! Go for a vent if you want to be a max power hero! :p
