GrpN ECU vs. Remap

  Clio 172 ph2 + 990SM
Whats the difference? performance + features?

The RS Tuning remap sounds quite good value for money :)

They are a very simialr thing. The are essentially a fixed map for the F4R that is designed to accomodate breathing mods amongst other things (opens throttle faster too).

I have a group n on my 172 ans it was £250 odd from Hillpower for a whole ECU not just a map. It's the single best mod I've mad to my car out of inlet, maxogen and cat back exhaust.

Looking at the RS Tuning thread along with this, I still wonder which options the best: the GrpN ECU or their remap?

Both the same price or thereabouts, both give extra power. With the GrpN though I guess it's a swop so you might keep the original if ever you need it for whatever reason.

I think I'll treat myself to one of the two, just can't decide which!

Cheers, Rob669.

It's for a whole ECU. Think it was £270.

The beauty of it is that you have your standard ECU as a spare should you wish to return your car to standard at any point in the future.

Well I didn't. My old ecu is still in my glovebox.

Is your's a MK1 or a MK2?
Whichever that's a bargain as a new ECU from renault is around £300+VAT Retail.

^^ Not half! I have 5 PH1 ECU's which i can supply cheap and outright but as for PH2 & 182 not a chance lol.

Back to the thread...

Our remap vs a groupn

The only true test would be on a rolling road on the same car :D

I got an Rsport about 3 years ago now...like Lager said...best mod for small breathing mods. My problem is I`m my ecu isn`t working exactly right and I`m worried that a remap won`t make a big difference...get another Rsport or pay that bit extra for a remap. Is there anyway I can check the Rsport to see if it working right?
