Just pulled up with my sub on etc.. get out the car and he goes are you deaf mate, I replyed no why and he starts giving me a load of mouth which I gratfully return.

End of story is he wants to contact the concil about me being a noisy nebiour, can they actually do anything about me pulling up in my car with my music full blast at 12:30pm??
I mean if I was doing it about 8pm etc.. then I could understand but geez what a knob, I'm off to wind him up going to put it on full blast and drive past him lol.

My neighbour sometimes come home with his sub blaring and all his windows down. I just laugh at him

I doubt it he's about 60 just a busy body, can hardly raise an arm let alone damage a car lol
But nah it's not ridiculously load either and I had all my windows up bar mine which was down half way.

trust me, those who you piss off invariably come back at you at some point

just turn the music down when you hit your estate, don't want any attention drawn to you do you? next thing you'll be typing on here would probably be 'i've just had my stereo stolen' and expecting sympathy

a little consideration for everyone really does help avoid confrontation

I've got a few neighbours like that too - I just ignore them and let them get on with their whinging.
But from a security point of view, it makes good sense not to drive around your immediate area with your stereo blasting, as it's effectively an advert for theives.

Agree with this ^^^

Keep the window-shaking volume for open roads

yep turn it right down when entering your road - never ever, ever thump your system where you live !! as otherwise it may not be there one day.

It's not so much whether you'll get into trouble or anything but a simple case of consideration for other people's homes and lifestyles.

Fair enough enjoy your music but in quiet residential areas I'd advise being a bit sensible with it. Nothing worse than causing domestics close to home!

And, yes, in theory you can cause sound pollution at any time of day providing the noise is loud enough, hence the reason why exhausts have to be below a certain (admittedly very high) decibel level...

Hello guys sorry about my thread I was just really really p!ssed off IMHO quite rightly too as he gave me such a dirty look and spoke to me like I was retarded just really rubbed me up the wrong way.

I'm not out to annoy anyone I have been asked to turn my music down by a few folk whilst my car is stationary they come up to me and say could you please turn the bass down a little bit etc.. I say to them I'm very sorry and adjust the volume or turn the sub off but when someone comes upto me and asks me if I'm deaf then theatens me I don't really take too kindly to that.

Anyways whats done is done I guess I'm just going to go back to my usual way, and thats not talking to him. We've never had a conversation in the 6 years he's been there - says something on it's own.

Sorry again if I sounded arrogant but I was really peeved and I admit I did wind him up more by driving past his house with a bass test on and my windows down just for added entertainment.

as above, when i had a sub in my last car, i used to turn it down as soon as i came off the motorway, then some more as i got nearer my house, turned it off completely a few roads before mine, makes sense mate

  Polo + Micra
mate i had someone complain about my music

he was about 20 yds from car (which has a good bit of dynamat xtreme) and the best thing was it was only my front comps running from the head unit.

best thing to do is just turn it down for the tw*ts and sorry (begrudgingly{sp})

p.s i'm up for a meet at yours:evil:

Why on earth would you drive down your own street with the system on?!

When I had mine it went off at the top of the road. Dont want the local scallies knowing whats inside if they break in!

I've got a 60 year old neighbour who kicked off with me for having my stereo on while vac'in out the car.... wouldnt mind but I dont have a sub in it and at that time it was a standard old tape deck... he demanded I turn it down and I told him to ask nicely ... that was 3 years ago and since then I've had nothing but grief off his family ... 2 other houses on the same row as me.. one's his ex-wife and her brother, the other, his grand-daughter.. but she hangs about with all the numptys in the village and because he twisted it as the "poor old guy who wouldnt hurt a fly" .. I've had abuse from all her mates and the family.. I've had the car damaged, The wife woke up to find someone had slashed ALL 4 tyres on the car .. I've had them scratched, bumped, kicked, spat on etc and I've even had verbal abuse and my life threatened and this is all because of the grand-daughter... shes now on an ASBO order through it and I'm glad to say CCTV's been up on the car now 2 years. no-ones touched my 182 (touch wood) and its gone quiet.. and thats ALL because he didnt like me playing my stereo slightly lounder than the vac so I could hear it ... word of warning there for you ... the older ones are always the worst ... trust me

Try not to be so inconsiderate.

If you got out and gave my grandad a mouthful i'd fill your mouth with my boot.

I think the law states noise pollution is unacceptable between the hours of 11pm to 7am. Otherwise they can't do anything unless it's over a noise loudness regulation or something. So the Police officer told me at my house party.! ;)

Keep the peace in the area around your property, if you don't I'm sure you'll regret it.

Agreed, alarm or no alarm, if you piss your neighbours off it's you're car that will probably get it....

Agreed. It makes no sense to cause trouble on your own doorstep. These things invariably come back to bite you on the arse!

this is not true, i had the police ring me one day because a person had made a compaint about me when i used to park outside of my school. apparently the bloke worked nights and i kept waking him up with my loud music. i got a warning for it and they kept an eye on me for a while and i kept on getting pulled over for it so they could check on me and stuff.

but in all truth i wouldnt drive down my street with my music loud, ive never had any complaints from anyone in my street, i usually get half way down my street and then turn my music off. its usually a joke with my neighbours about my noisy car.
