C1 showing as 'in stock' on the site today. Along with quite a large number of other very good products.
So....no, not the case that they don't actually have any stuff to sell
No idea about before today mate. I'm not that keen that I check stock availability on the site daily. Much, it would seem, like the OP. (thats a joke BTW).
But it's in stock now. And I'm maybe as confused as others, as to why one would rant on here, instead of contacting the manufacturer.
Ah well....
Im guessing there will have been a sudden influx of people buying as it has now become the most popular wheel sealant (C5) and probably the most popular sealant in general (C1) also with people buying for christmas presents and pre summer details, its probably become a bit much for the guys at gtech.
So C1 and C5 will do the same job, just that C5 is better for alloys because it lasts long etc etc?
Stunty, Ive contacted them for a few weeks now and been looking on DW forum with no response, just ranted on here for the sake of ranting on here.
Just spoken to them, C5 should be in stock as of next week and New C1 when ever they get it.
They have advised, once the bottle is open that it must be used as it starts to go off.
Buy a big bottle of C1 like the one I offered 50ml and it'll do everything. I can get a bottle because the guy who has it is a friend.
C1 will last longer than C5 if it isn't the same product, a lot of people say it is. I make no comment either way. They come in different sized bottles anyway.
It will start to go off if exposed to air for ages but once you've finished just make sure the lid is closed tight again.
C5 is marketed as safer for Gen Pub to use on wheels, because if you mess it up you can refurb your alloys. If you mess up bodywork with C1, you'd have to respray the effected area = £££.
Whether they are two different products, well that's up to you to decide for yourself...
So for C1 prep, after a complete wash down but not using clay as i did that less than 5 months ago.
Would you say some thing like a menzerna polish, IPA then use C1? But do one panel/wheel at a time before buffing off?
If what I am asking or suggesting is complete toss, can one of your lot tell me the best way to get this right first time, I cant afford resprays as its only a french car.
do as much prep as possible before applying. and as it's going to last 18-24months you'll want it corrected to the best of your ability, so yeah wash, de contaminate, clay, polish, IPA then apply. You don't want to do too big an area before buffing. for example I did half the face of a wheel then buffed, then the other half.
bit of a bump, but GTechniq have now re-stocked there shelves. C4+ & C5+ is available now, with C1+ available tomorrow / by the end of the week. Prices are also reduced over the originally recipe http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/
when I 1st used it, I was using maybe a 1/4 of a 15ml bottle so say 3.5ml per wheel. I was using way to much. Now I'm down to maybe 1.5 - 2ml per wheel.
