Gumball 3000 2011

  billabong...
my wife was hula hooping on the start line today, hired by a rich sheik with a mirrored lambo! I got a hat and sticker out of it! I'm easily pleased!

Loved the One-77 or whatever it's called (the £1 million Aston). Paintjob was rank though!

Bah, these events attract attention seeking w**kers whose financial means massively eclipses their class/taste.

Now now si. Thats like me saying all JDM boys love rota's...

My mate did it last year for his honeymoon. Spent £12,000 doing it but it was a once in a lifetime opurtunity. Like the Fastcar guys did a while ago iirc.

Not exclusively but a large majority.

£12,000 you could do the same route, stay in some awesome places still enjoy all the same sights and locations yet not travel with a bunch of f**kwits and deal with a lot of unwanted attention imo. Just really doesn't appeal.

It's a bit like a CS "driving meet" You'd have a lot more fun, in more safety going for a spirited drive on a decent road on your own. Instead you end up with a bunch of weapons off here all trying to outdo each other by driving dangerously and generally drawing negative attention from other road users or police.

I'd rather do the scumball rally where you drive across Europe in a shed, I think that would be more of a laugh.
Everyone in the same boat hoping their car doesn't go bang.

Alot different for the FC guys, because they are press they basically got free entry (gaurenteed for the european leg), however they spent a stupid amount at the parties etc. They also then finished the euro leg and were so caught up in it they did the america leg (all out of there own pockets), they dumped the merc in stockholm, flew to america and hired some mustang....

A friend of mine text me to say this was going on outside his work place. I asked for photos. I got one, of a standard looking Jag softop.
