if its a certain red ring they will fix it FOC anyway, mine was outside of warranty and they still fixed it for free

If not in warranty try rrod fix, look through the other recent thread about it, I put a link to a good kit which comes with full guide about how to do it so not too hard. If you cba with that then get an Elite, don't go PS3, you will regret it if you've ever used Xbox Live.

I don't know why people complain about cost of xbox live. It's £2.17 a month if you shop around. That's less than a beer @pub/club, just means one night when you kinda want to go pub, just have a beer at home and play some forza (cough *exclusive that's probably going to match the elusive GT5 that we have to wait till we're about to die of old age to play) or some MW2 which is just better on xbox live than ps3.

And this thread has now turned into a console war that the xbox always wins because only about 3 people prefer ps3 and that's only because they don't own an xbox or were droped on their head as a baby.

I'm not that fussed about either tbh. A former housemate had a 360 and it was fine apart from the network card didn't work, so I never could test out the online shizzle. I bought the PS3, not just for the games, but the fact it was only £200 on a special offer at Sainsbury's, and has Internet, iPlayer, media centre client abilities and a great Blu-ray player. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. I pretty much only play pro-evo on it anyway!

Each to their own, and all that.

I also hope the big console makers can get together and work out a format for their online stuff, to allow players from to play online against either other, regardless on the console they're using. Who knows?

Get the newest 360 elite available, i think its the jasper microchip and its supposed to be far more reliable.

I have had both and prefer the 360 simply for online play.
