Had tracking done but steering wheel is now offset

I had it done at a decent well-recommended place and saw that the graphs were perfect. It drives completely straight and as it should. However, my steering wheel faces a bit to the right. I took it back and asked them to sort it, they clamped it perfectly in the centre in front of me, adjusted everything again and let it down. It still sits to the right. What could be causing this? It's just had new tie rods and track rod ends so can't be any of those.

if there no play in the system then then the wheel isn't straight when there doing the check if you want and they let you sit in the car when they do the tracking.

Check there adjusting both sides though not just one.

also see about rotating the tyres side to side see if it goes the other way.

When they showed me that it was clamped, he said 'that's straight yeah?' and then screwed the O/S, then sent me on my way. So he should have adjusted both again rather than just one?

mine does this too, but goes minimally to the left (ooh er lol)

same sort of thing with mine, centred the wheel with the clamp and it does it :(

Like I say it's on brand new tyres and track rod ends/tie rods, and it drives perfectly and shows perfect figures on the graph. The steering wheel is just off!

Same here again
4 brand new tyres. Track rod ends and ball

Drives straight but ever so slightly the wheel faces left

Poorly adjusted track rods mate. Phone Fred he'll tell you the same.

I can make any car align stright, doesn't mean it's right. How anyone can properly align a car without driving it is beyond me!

Got mine done last time at Demon Tweeks after behaving exactly as you say. Made the car so much more pleasant to drive as the offset steering wheel was really beginning to piss me off!

Either something is bent or they are being retarded.

I didn't know hunter was that expensive. I believe our recent stuff was £6k.

Different if you're setting up proper suspension though.

It was actually a Protyre outlet that did it. I already took it back and said I'm not happy straight after I had it done, and they said there was nothing else they could do.

how much they charge? bet they left the locking pins if the front turn plates, see it all the time

ring them up and complain, i would

£40. I complained when I had the Panda and took it back 3 times, and once more to the manager who blamed it on the (standard amount of) camber.

I had the exact same problem, had the tracking set up at Pro tyre/Audi and did it myself, drove straight but wheel slightly off. Switched tyres front to year, been fine ever since.

Flol! I did laugh when I seen a monkey do it in here once! Never did it again after that.

That's their job. We do it all the time in here if it means getting the car aligned and driving properly.
