French for grey, which I think was what the colour was called in France!?!?

I'll never use Halfords for paint again after last time.

Got some paint for my Atlantis blue (the dark purpley colour) Corsa B (Don't laugh) and they mixed some sort of light blue/silver colour and refused me a refund, knobs!

Halfords mix it to the code you gave them, if you gave them the wrong one or didn't know the code then we can go by the name, which isnt always the same everywhere you go. Did you get the code off the plate under the bonnet?

More fool you for paying for it in the first place. It's as Lesley says, really.

If it comes up with Gris, It is most likely Gris Boreal which is a non-sport colour.

It will come up with either Titanium or Iceburg depedant on 172/182. Both ARE different colours.

Plus you can search for all colours made on the clio in a certain year, titanium & iceberg are on there i remember from looking mine up the other day. If you go in with all the right info then you will come out with the right colour. Its when people come in asking for a silver for their ford, no idea on year lol, thats when it gets annoying!

Titanium is just 100odd grams of H720 or G729, can't remember which now. It's a pure colour.

They are bellends I went to have my paint mixed (Renault Rouge 727) and they say its full of lead so they wont mix it one of 3 colours (out of the many out there) they dont stock grrrr So I went to a back ally paint place thats 10 pounds cheaper and its a perfect match!

So they're bellends for telling you something that potentially could be true? Right. Jog on.

how does that make halfords 'bellends' as you called them?? its not halfords not being able to make it its the fact they are not allowed to stock the colour that is in your paint!
Some of the lead colours have alternatives, did they look that up for you?

I'll go back there tomorrow and check it our again. Pretty sure I got the right paint code though maybe the guy miss heard me. Thanks for the info though guys, sounds like some if you work for Halfords is there any chance you could find out exactly what the mix is for titanium and let me know?

The code for Titanium is 647 mate, they can find it from that.

If I remember I'll PM you tomorrow from work (PM me to remind me) and I'll tell you exactly what it is you need.

Having had this happen with a Halfords Custom mix..

I'd never trust a paint mix from them again, as you can see... its pretty horrific! You can't beat going to a proper paint shop and having them match paint swatches instead of just mixing whatever their system tells them.

lesley + Feirny. Thanks for your help people wouldn't think it would be the hard bit getting the colour on my bump strips lol defiantly said to the guy 647 I'll try it again tomorrow can they do a small test pot of if I try the colour and it's not right can I take it back? Or is it a one shot deal kind of thing

If they mix to the code, and it's obviously wrong, then they've made a mistake and you can be refunded.

It's basic customer service, I'd refund you for it anyway.

I'm not sure why people are surprised when Halford's paint doesn't match. There's usually more than one shade of any specific colour and unless you can compare the shades available on colour chips next to the vehicle, there's a good chance it's going to be off.

It's not their fault, they don't claim to be a professional bodyshop so don't expect professional bodyshop quality.

Also, don't pay much attention to the name that comes up for the colour, the system at my work comes up with all sorts of weird and wonderful names for colours at times, as long as the code is correct you'll have the correct colour.

Halfords do stock 727 in Rattle cans that are readily available. Its not called Renault Rouge either, its Capsicum Red 727.

The fact they dont stock 3 colours and mine happens to be one of them they are a massive car superstore I highly doubt the license to hold such a paint would be a fortune for them... If a tiny little paint shop can stock it but not them they are bellends... simple being beaten by a tiny little shop

As above and no he never he just said its one of 3 colours we are not licensed to hold just told me to go order it from Renault

Ive tryed capsicum red it doesnt match my car colour? Got those touch up paint packs with capsicum red and it stands out on the bumper quite clearly. Its a lighter colour than mine

If your colour code is 727, your car is Capiscum Red. The reason touch ups don't match is because touch ups never match properly, plus the fact it's an 11 year old red car which will have faded a s**t load since it was painted.

I got a can made up at Halfords, apparently there are 2 shades of 647. The 1st can they made up was too dark, 2nd can matched and didn't need to be mixed at all.
