Halfords Telford LMAO!

  Renault Laguna Coupe

Ordered some wheels from Halfords last weekend (I know, I should have known better, but they had a 20% off everything sale and I had no time to go anywhere else before Trax).

Anyhow, the car was booked in for 1.00pm today to have them fitted. So I take the car in, introduce myself (hello sir, yes were expecting you). They pull the car into the workshop and take the wheels off.

Then they discover that the new wheels havent arrived

What a bunch of muppets.

Ordered them in 7 x 17. The annoying thing is I told them when I placed the order that I needed them for this weekend, otherwise I might as well wait until next spring. Fingers crossed for tomorrow morning (they have promised faithfully theyll have them).

Otherwise Ill be entering the most-kerbed standard wheels comp at Trax on Sunday

Got my new alloys from Halfords on Weds

OZ Titans 16" for my new 172.

but 1 of the wheels has a nasty mark on the rim - which looks like it was done by the makers. It looks like a small kerb mark which has been painted & laquered.

I rejected the wheels, they told me to take the other 3 & they would phone OZ first thing yesterday morning and get it sorted.

Got a phone call today to let me know that they need to speak to a supervisor at OZ & he is on holiday. They will try again on Mon.

So at the mo I have 3 alloys sat in my hall.

And at the mo I dont even know if I will get a replacement.

H

you shouldnt have accepted the three, take them back and demand a full refund you are perfectly within your rights to do so.

Centrecaps look a bit gay anyway to be honest

Mike, Id tell them you had to take the day off work and are really pissed off and want further discount to compensate you. Failing that, turn the place ower!

i work in halfords and the best thing for you to do is take the wheels back and ask for a further reduction off the wheels because the service is sh*te, an complain that sum1 promised you that they would come in b4 da wk end. if they wont do that either:

1. then threaten to return the alloys unless you get more money knocked off an it will piss da manager off cos they have got to do it, and most alloys are non returnable to the suppliers which will majorly fuk da store off! if they wont do this then...

2. ask for sum money off another product that you want from the store e.g a stereo, snooper etc (something they have in stock + alpine stuff cos they got next day delivery garantee [it is in my store neway ]) because you have been put out. due to what you have bought being a large transaction you are very likely to get a considerable amount bein knocked off! ask for at least 10%

halfords deliverys are sh*te, the company are run by monkeys just like off the adds

Well what do u expect - Halfords is bad enough but add Telford and ur in trouble

Rite for a start its not actually Halfords fault that this as happened. I work in the oldham store halfords and weve been having a few problems with the supplyer "motorsport wheels" recently. I dont know how you managed to get halfords to fit the wheels for you though as halfords dont have garages any more :S. their now AA Service Centres.

we deal with Motorsport Wheels at work....(Motor World)........id not had a problem with em apart from last week where they conveniently lost a £1000 order i had placed with them, took an extra week to get the wheels....

Hmm sorry if this thread has offended nfbr or any other Halfords employees, but I know that if I had a customer whod ordered stuff for delivery on a certain day, Id at least check whether it had been delivered before the customer arrived, let alone before Id taken his wheels off. (Whether its an AA service centre or not is irrelevant to a customer - its in the same shop).

You have to be aware that in the retail trade any problems are ALWAYS the retailers fault. Supplier problems are not the customers problems. As of now the score reads:

Halfords supplied 0 wheels

telford_mike has supplied Halfords with £600 (paid in advance)

hence I am pissed off. Wouldnt you be?

Thanks for the advice J_rt, Ill bear it in mind when I go to get my money back.
