Hand brake light wont go off!

i have a clio 16v 1996

the hand brake light ( ! ) wont go off??

does this mean my brakes are worn??

either a dodgy switch in the handbrake handle, or low fluid level (im assuming it has a float level sensor in the fluid resevoir) due to either worn discs/pads or poss just needs fluid topping up

will ill check the fluid level but that was done a few months ago#?

if your pads/discs have worn then like i say that can cause the level to drop, or possibly a faulty switch or leaking brake hose or caliper, just trying to suggest the obvious and easy stuff 1st

itll be braik fluid level i had this, if it keeps happening then its a leaky cylinder seal in one of urs drums or a split hose
