handbrake adjuster

Anyone know how to adjust the handbrake on a 2002 clio?

Dont, they are preset from factory, whats the problem?

I wouldn't mind being able to do this.

The c**ts that owned (literally and metaphorically speaking) have stretched the handbrake cable to the extent it is pretty much useless.

I thought they were self adjusting.

they can be adjusted but its not a simple job.
its in the haynes manual if uve got one on how to do it

If they are, my self adjusting mechanism has broken like everything else on the car!

Its under the car.

1) Jack up the car

2) Place it on axel stands etc... for safety

3) Remove heatsheild just behind the handbrake handle

4) This will show the handbrake mechanism.

5) Adjust the 2 individual (iirc) nuts to slacken or tighten the handbrake.
**Be carefull not to over-do this!**

6) Replace heathshield etc....
