handbrake working on one side?

lately my handbrake is only working on one side and the lever is slowly getting higher, ............ is the self adjuster not adjusting and is stuck or is it something else ?

possibilities might include stretched cable, faulty operating arms (do they move freely through their travel?), problems with the self adjusting mechanism, +

mine done this the cable just stretched then eventually came out of the bit that holds it in, not really a problem tbh, just wait till MOT time and they'll be fixing mine!

i had a problem where it only worked on one side. It turned out that the drum brake was faulty and i needed new rear brakes on both sides.

did u get the cylinder replaced or the whole lot ?

The cylinder was replaced on both sides, as well as the brake shoes. Cable was fine.
