Hankook RS2's for 182

Car  Suzuki Swift Sport
Hi there,

Does anyone have any experience with Hankook RS2's? I got recommended by a friend with an Integra Type R - I was going for parada spec 2's but thinking of giving these a go as they are available in 205 45 16. Most of my driving will be on road with the odd track day / Nurburgring trip.

Thanks

Nick

Cool thanks, Toyo 888's are not an option as they don't do them in 205 45 16 unless there is something I don't know!

I've been told that 195's are best. Even on the R26r they use 225's instead of the road tyres 235

Hankook AKA ditch finders lol

Toyo R888 ne day

Typical ill informed response!

Inferno has them & so far is enjoying them.

As soon as i get a spare set of speedlines my 197 cup will be shod with these.

People should try different products & stop being 'sheep' :rasp:

ie PE2's F1's etc are good road tyres but when put to the test on a track they fall apart & melt.

Lot of the people that recommend R888's have never had them on their cars!

Just fitted 4 new yoko paradas mate. Epic dry grip i'm sure no one will disagree. Just point and hit every corner. Couldn't recommend them enough.

A few people have commented on the wet handling, they must be driving too quick to experience any dodgy moments all imo of course.

Not a track tyre though, they'll still fall apart with abuse.

Think ill try these - just hope the ride quality is good, I find toyo t1r's for example to be too harsh in the ride department. If they ride like parada spec 2's then all will be good!

Very stiff sidewall, imagine worse than t1r's

Lols yeah good point warren never thought it that way. I could peel the compound off with my nail if I wanted!
For the way I drive they are perfect.

I'll be using for both track & road, unless they perform badly.

Can get 4 17's for £300 compared to R888's at almost £600

so what would the expected life be with thse tyres for road use with 2 track days a year?
my toyo t1-r's have lasted a year and need replacing.

Think I may just stick with spec 2's then! I like a nice smooth ride. For the amount of track work im going to do its prob not worth the compromise.

Cheers for the help! :)
Where are you at Nick? If your close to Settle I might be able to sort a good price on some Paradas for you.

some people are full of sh1t them F1's I had of you have seen 8 to 10 track days and will still do more so how can you say they will fall apart and melt Plus they have been past lots of cars running R888's even your Trophy Steve I would say the R888's fall apart and melt before the F1's just look at the two R26R's at Silverstone both of them had bald front tyres before the end of the day and both well below 2k miles and both on R888's :boring:

Steve i believe you are misinformed i know loads of people that run toyo t1r's and Goodyear eagle f1's and they grip and last very well tbh the r888's don't last in my experience i have been told by a tyre specialist that the gg compound which is the hardest compound toyo do in the r888 range is to soft and the rubber is not as good as others that are out there he recommended to me Yokohama A048 as the best track day road legal tyres you can get .

but tbh you cant get a better track tyre than race slicks and at £25 a tyre they are cheep as chips :D
