20 years ago today that I bought this, brand new with 8 delivery miles on the clock now it's at 136k miles and still my daily driver.
It still scrubs up well 😁

Yeah. I think there's Darren and a couple others who've also had theirs since new. There can't be that many 1 owners about.
If I'd have left a few more weeks it would have been on an 06 plate, which would have been very rare, but I needed it on the road asap.

My dad had his Ph2 Flamer 172 from less than a year old until last year.

Story time,
I remember going to Renault Ilford to look at it with him before they had prepped it etc (it was just at the back of their lot) He paid £14,600 for it (I had a 1.8 Phase 2 in sports blue at the time) he liked it but wanted a newer car, so he got the 172.
It's a 52 reg, November 2002 car with factory clear side repeaters and sat nav (the nav was the reason he wanted it, it apparently had Nokia phone prep too) I have inherited it and don't plan to sell it.

Fair play thats good going! has it been fairly reliable?

EDIT: That smile your on dashcam sticker is absolute nonce behaviour however
Pretty much so. It's on its 3rd alternator and 3rd battery and one driveshaft replaced plus the spoiler brake light was playing up a couple of weeks ago. It once threw the aux belt off but a million to one chmace it jammed and don't take out the cambelt.
Other than that, it's been very reliable. Costs have generally been all bog standard stuff, servicing and tyres etc....

Haha. The story about the dashcam sticker is because there's a scumbag neighbour who's twice reversed into my car. It's really there just to remind her as the dashcam runs 24/7. She now gives my car a very wide berth.

Don't be saying that. Mine's on its 2nd, but that must be from 10+ years ago now. Hopefully that doesn't mean a new one soon.

To be honest. The 2nd one I had fitted only lasted a couple of weeks and was faulty so I went back to the garage and fitted another. That must have been 10 or 11 years ago now. Hopefully there's still plenty of life left in this one 🤞🤞

Hell of a milestone. Got any early pictures of it? Don't imagine it's changed much...
I don't have any pics. There's probably some knocking about on an old Nokia phone somewhere lol.
The only change visually is the Skoda Fabia splitter and the Yozzasport exhaust which has been on for the best part of 17 years.

How does it drive now compared to when it was new? When it was all stock (dampers/springs/bushes etc.) - A lot of these cars have been modified over the years and parts have become NLA etc.

It's not to bad at all, as it's had all new cup shocks and eiback springs all round, and Michelin pilot sport tyres. It needs the belts doing soon though but not sure where to take it, I'm based in Spalding Lincolnshire.

Mine had new cup shocks fitted a few years ago and Grams springs.
I'd say the Grams springs are better than the original springs in terms of handling.
I've also got a full set of brand new cup springs because like you say, lots of things are NLA. I've been stock piling a fewvspare parts for a few years now for that reason.
I'm determined to keep it on the road for as long as it's economically possible.

This is ace. Although I’m new to my 182 I want to keep it as long as I can. The initial reason for getting it was that I thought it would appreciate over time, but that went out of the window as it has cost me a fortune! Also I have fallen in love with it a bit 🥰
