Hard wiring the origin B2

  2008 Golf GTI Edition 30

Yeah, the unit is in teh same place as mine, and as much wire showing.

I like the laser mount tho, custom made?

I have my laser up above the rear view mirror and the cable run round the top of the screen behind the trims.

No idea, Ive only ever gone past one laser van.

I was speeding at the time:confused:, it didnt go off and I didnt get a ticket.;) (So Im assuming its laser was not active as I passed it)

So hence its had nothing to test it yet :(

Im going to have to think about this hard wiring lark. Especially when the ipaq and the satnav gets sorted out. Currently the Road Angel is just plugged into the cigarette lighter. With the Ipaq as well my dash is going to be covered in wires. :(

Just tuck it round the edge. ;)

lol @ Pete

CocoPops,

Yes the mount was custom made. Found some scrap aluminium in the garage, bent it a bit, painted it with some stuff (paint!) and then fixed the laser thing to it with a sticky pad used for reg plates.

Took a while to do - with the paint drying and all - but worth it in the end, I think youll agree.

Any chance someone could do a guide? Mainly focusing on how to wire it in ;) Bit of a novice at that...

One small word of warning, which probably wont apply but just in case LOL if you intend to drive over to France at any point you may want to remove the laser detector.

When we went over last month we all took them off and tucked them under the dash or left them at home.

Just a thought, but it is neater with the little bracket. Ill just put up with a few inches of wire up my screen. LOL

  Hippys bus of LOVE !!!

Where is the dash laser bracket from ???

Mine works at the top of the screen perfectly well, as demonstrated by Coventry police on the M6 bloody laser thing was going bonkers...

I came across a couple of places on the M6 where it goes mad.
