Hardware sales

Why does it matter yadda yadda yadda. Well it was an entertaining thread a few months back, and at the time a few moaners said 'post the figures in a few months when they are actually meaningful'.

Here goes...

USA - month ending May 31st 2007
DS - 423,000
Wii - 338,000
PSP - 221,000
PS2 - 188,000
360 - 155,000
PS3 - 82,000

The overall picture, 360 sales have dropped 47% in 5 months, PS3 is down 66% over the same period. The PS2 is finally starting to slow down, sales below 200,000 have only previously happened once between now and 7 years ago. DS sales are up by around 150% over the previous year.

4 or the top 5 selling games were DS and Wii, all of which sold at least quarter of a million copies each (the other was a PS2 game)

And as this is the Forza 2 forum, it sold 217,000 copies in May, more than Forza 1 in its first month.

Japan - week ending June 10th 2007
DS - 117,193
Wii - 64,529
PSP - 24,711
PS2 - 11,097
PS3 - 8,776
360 - 2,553

Europe doesn't give up such nice figures so easily, but as far as I can tell the situation is much the same with the DS and Wii despite continued limited availability, and the 360 has the edge on PS3 apparently.

Impressive to see the 360 still selling so strongly being like 18 months old or whatever it is. I can't believe PSP sales are so high
