Harness Advice Neeeded

  Some of a Clio 1.8 16v
I'm just starting to look into ordering the harnesses for the valver project but i'v run into a bit of trouble. I want 3" shoulder straps, not so fussed about the lap straps and i'd really prefere aircraft style buckles but I can't find any that fit this criteria and carry an ECE approval for the MOT. Anyone know of any that fit this?

iirc LUKE 2" harnesses have a wider shoulder strap? or you wanting the full strap to be 3"?

dont think they do them with aircraft buckles though so maybe not much use

ive never been totally clear on the MOT/buckle issue, some arent supposed to be able to pass an MOT, whereas people who have them say they pass no problems?!

Dont get the aircraft buckles. they are a pain in the arse if you need to get somewhere quick, i hardly ever wear mine now, ideally i need some with the seatbelt style clip

This is what i'm starting to wonder I can't imagine rally cars running with the plastic clip buckles but they need to be road legal as far as I know.

I know but they look a bit cheap in my opinion and since the car is gonna purely be a toy convenience isn't a real problem. Have you had any mot problems with you aircraft style buckles?

Hmmmmm, interesting. I suppose if worst comes to worst i could buy a ece seatbelt and swop it over at MOT time

aircraft buclets are not road legal, there for competition use only, i didnt have any issues with mine except for leaving early so i could strap into the car!

Aircraft buckle, 3" harnesses hold you in and support you much much better than 2" harnesses... 2" harnesses are also difficult to get adjusted correctly.

But that said, 2" harnesses with seatbelt buckle take seconds to put on, whereas 3" are a pain in the ass...

Choice is yours, lol

I think i'm willing to suffer the inconvenience for the finished result and as said whip the passenger seat out and swap the drivers belt come mot time.
