Harness question

Evening all,

And when used with buckets, how do they attach to the seats?

They don't attatch to the seats dude. They attatch to the shell of the car.

right, these bolts are fine

one bolt attaches to where the standard seatbelt attaches at the bottom of the door coloum (unbolt the metal bar, and screw the bolt into the same hole), the other bolt attaches to the subframe next to the handbrake (there should be a harness attachment on your subframe) and the back bolts to the back seat where the rear seatbelt clip is held

Do not mount the rear of the belts at more than 45 degrees. Because if you ever find yourself in a accident. The harness will crush your spine.

Yeah I know that - they are being mounted to the top bolt for the rear seatbelts. Thats why I only got 3 points.

Anyone got a pic of where they mount down by the hand brake?

if you dont have a bracket on your subframe for them you will have to drill a hole through the floorpan and secure the eyebolt through the floor

On the same note, just been trying to put in my harnesses and where the standard seat belt bolts in at the front (where the bar is mounted) the bolt is not 7/16 it is smaller so an eyebolt doesn't fit. Is there another mounting point??? :S

do you need to use a eyebolt or not (ie. are your harnesses the clip type ones)

Yup, clip type ones at the front so need eyebolts there. Back strap is bolt in and all sorted.

damm, you could have just used the standard bolt !

maybe do the same as the handbrake side. Drill a hole through the floor pan and mount it there

Hmmmm, not sure its one for today then!! Seem to be loads of people with eyebolts mounted to the front seat belt mount though so not sure why mine won't.... Rear seat belt mount points are all 7/16 so weird that the front ain't :S

Not sure where to look mate. Tweeks are all 7/16 and ebay ones don't say but assume they're the same. Just searching the web to see what on offer. Need to try and work out what size the actual bolt is too!! Too confusing...

Aftermarket belts just seem a bad idea I bet whatever you do will never be as safe as the stock ones hence renault spending thousands getting the setup just right. But if your tracking it i suppose you dont have a choice.
